Who Do You Think You Are?

I find the show Who Do You Think You Are? to be bigoted. This show takes a celebrity and investigates their family heritage to uncover interesting backgrounds, and make people rethink who they really are. This idea -- that who you are is not based on your own qualities and experiences, but on your lineage -- seems the very definition of prejudice. If people see themselves differently because their family was from a different country than they expected, how are they judging others that they meet?

Learning if your family was descended from a king, or from an ancestor of another race, is interesting in the same way that learning who else was born on your birthday is interesting, or that famous guy who went to your high school. It's interesting, but shouldn't make you see yourself differently. You're still the same you.

That said, it's an interesting show.

Today I was walking on my block and saw a table by an Islamic organization with a poster about evil Zionists that included a Nazi-style stereotype drawing of the evil Jew. I wanted to say something but I had no idea what. Any suggestions?
